 Event/Distance: EPIC

How long have you been involved in the triathlon world?

I started in the year 2011 (3 seasons going on 4th season)

When you started, what were your goals?

I started in 2011. My goal was just to finish the swim and bike. My first Olympic was Shubie Olympic race and I remember swimming breast stroke to get through the swim.

Do you have any pre-race superstitions?

Some would say have a beer before the race but I don’t listen to them. 😉

How many hours per week do you train?

I’m not sure really. I just try to fit in two workouts a day. I do run over 70k a week and swim 2 to 3 times a week and bike whenever I can.

What do you love most about EPIC Dartmouth and why did you choose this race?

The volunteers are totally amazing. The organization of the event is fantastic and I love the fact that if the day isn’t yours and you need to cut out one aspect of the race you can! If you signed up for EPIC and it just isn’t working for you that day, you can skip the run. You do not get that kind of flexibility in any other race.

Words of wisdom: (Any advice for your competitors or future triathletes?)

Look out! I’m behind you! Just do it and don’t think too much about it. If I can do it, heck, anyone can!

  1. Hey Tammy, what a nice thing to say!! I’m just noticing your comment now and would have replied much earlier if I’d known!!
